The following Terms & Conditions apply to www.starbitspets.com ("Starbits Pets", "Starbits", "the site", or "SBP") and any other website operated by Starbits Pets. By accessing, browsing, or registering for Starbits Pets you agree to be bound by the Starbits Pets Terms & Conditions ("Terms" or "Agreement") and any other rules on the site and that you have both read and understood them. You also agree to be bound by any future guidelines and modifications made in the future. Changes to these Terms may be made with or without your notification, and become effective immediately upon their posting.

Starbits Pets reserves the right to restrict access, remove privileges, or prohibit use of the site to any user at any time.

If you do not agree to this Agreement, please do not use Starbits Pets.

Registered Members of www.starbitspets.com will be referred to as "members" or "users."

1. Eligibility - You must follow certain criteria in order to sign up for Starbits Pets. Please read the following carefully before registration.

• According to COPPA, a child must have parental consent before disclosing personal information to a website. Therefore, you must be over thirteen (13) to sign up and use Starbits Pets. If you are under thirteen years of age you must have parental consent before registering. If you are under the age of thirteen and do not have parental consent then you may not use this site.
• By registering for Starbits Pets, you agree to provide only true, accurate, and up-to-date information to Starbits Pets. If you wish not to provide true and accurate information, then please do not use Starbits Pets. Sensitive information such as your password, e-mail, etc. will not be disclosed. Please read our Privacy Policy for more details.
• If you were banned in any way by the Starbits Pets administrator or a staff member, then you cannot use another IP or computer to create another account. If you do make another account, it will be immediately banned. Other actions against you may or may not occur.

2. Prohibited Conduct - Commiting an act on the list of Prohibited Conduct will result in warning(s), the freezing of your account, or the banning of your account. Staff members will judge the severity of your punishment. Depending on the nature of the offense, legal action may or may not be taken.

While Starbits Pets does have moderators who work to monitor content in posted media and other forms of communication, Starbits pets is not responsible or liable for the contents of any posted media anywhere on www.starbitspets.com. Users are solely responsible for the posting and content of their media. Posts by users on the various outlets on the site do not necessarily represent the views of Starbits Pets.

Staff members of Starbits Pets reserve the right to remove and edit any data submitted to Starbits Pets.

• Starbits Pets, while targeted toward teenagers, also counts many children as members. Therefore, profanity, pornography, threatening, hateful, racially/ethnically insulting, and libelous posts and submissions are not allowed anywhere on Starbits Pets. This includes but is not limited to: Starmail, Forum Posts, Starbit and User Profiles, Usershop Descriptions, Starclubs, Starbit Names, User Names, Contest Submissions, or e-mails to Staff Members.
• Harassment in any form is not permitted. Chain-letters, "spam", junk-mail, unsolicited offers, advertisements, and proposals are not to be posted anywhere on SBP, including but not limited to: in Starmail, Forum Posts, Starclubs, and Contest Submissions.
• Accessing personal user information or "hacking" into Starbits in anyway is not permitted and is a major offense. If you are found to have gained access to any part of the site that is hidden, or not supposed to be seen you will be banned and legal action may or may not be taken against you.
• You are not to impersonate any member of SBP, or gain access to another member's account without their permission.
• If you somehow obtain a user's password or other personal information, you are not allowed under any circumstance to give it to any third-party, nor are you to encourage or deceive a user into giving personal information to anyone.
• Exploiting an error, "glitch", or loophole to gain an unfair advantage over other members is strictly prohibited. Members found doing this will, at the very least, have all of their virtual items and bits (virtual currency) confiscated.
• You are not to use Starbits Pets for any illegal activity. If found doing this, you will be reported to an authority and your account will be banned.
• You are not allowed to post any links to any drug-related, pornographic, adult, illegal, or hate sites. Users found doing this will be immediately banned.

3. Password Confidentiality - You are solely responsible for protecting your password. Starbits Pets is not responsible for any damages or losses due to your password being discovered. It is suggested that you use a different password for each program/website/application to protect yourself and your property.

4. Proprietary Rights - Starbits Pets is owned by and operated by Starbits Pets. Graphics, computer codes, visual media, information, designs, products, and all other elements of Starbits Pets including virtual items, artwork, and any combination thereof are protected by United States copyright, patent, trademark laws, international conventions, and all other applicable intellectual property rights, and applicable laws. All content found on Starbits Pets is the property of Starbits Pets. Unless you have permission from Starbits Pets, you agree not to buy, sell, license, distribute, copy, modify, publicly perform or display, transmit, publish, edit, adapt, create derivative works from, or make any other unauthorized or commercial use of Starbits Pets property.

Users may use Starbits Pets media for personal and non-commercial use only, provided that they include the following statement INTACT wherever the content appears. It is highly recommended that you contact the Starbits Pets administrator before using Starbits Pets content.

5. User Submissions - By submitting any media including but not limited to: site software, designs, text, graphical material, flash media and/or other copyrightable elements to to Starbits Pets you grant a perpetual, royalty-free, irrevocable, nonexclusive right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, and distribute such materials or incorporate such materials into any form, medium, or technology the submission in question.

6. Commissions - It is a popular practice to sell "commissions," or artwork, stories, and other media to fellow users of Starbits Pets for bits (virtual currency). However, any non-Starbits related copyrighted material is not allowed under any circumstance to be sold for bits. This also includes characters based on other copyrighted characters. If you are not the owner of the content or do not have express permission from the owner of the copyrighted content, then you can not sell it on Starbits Pets for bits.

7. Liability - Starbits Pets is not responsible for any damages to you or your property. By using this site you recognize that all information you provide to us could be leaked to a third-party. Starbits Pets is also not responsible for any content that exists through links outside of Starbits Pets.
